Project: Degradation of Natural Rubber
This research project focused on consolidation options for degraded rubber with a focus on a collection of foam rubber face pads on aviator goggles, dating from the 1910s to the 1970s.
Fellow: Lindsay Cross
Additional Experiences: Treatment activities included consolidation of a degraded cellulose nitrate object informed by prior fellowship research, treatment of magnesium aluminum alloys, doped fabric, and development of an artifact sample archive method.
